The wild met the night in a starry embrace .

the tree swaying in a gentle breeze. A roaring bonfire crackling lively amongst the burning timber. swirls of smoke escaping from the fiery pile, from the tips of flames, to the hearth of the fire.

boys running about like flightly foxes in a grove. A youthful stance held them capable of sprinting through the grounds, in a blink of the eye. When not fording through whatever came their way, they stood by the fire. flickers of light dancing in their eyes. Revealing the fiery soul that  always, led them back to the forest.

The other Patrons of the evening, were chatting and laughing together. A pleasant wind seemed to catch everyone in a enjoyable evening- fit for the curious, and the wonderful.

At some point in the evening, someone purposed a game to be played. The boys, instantly jumped at the chance to play. Taking some time, the others departed from the warm fire, and lofty chairs to join the fun.

In this game, one would hide, while the others went to find them.

The first person went to hide, and left the group to count and wait.

The flight-footed boys led the group, as they started ramble amongst the forestry. everyone went behind, turning their heads, hoping to find their hidden friend.

The trees, old as time seemed to watch the night-goers in delightful antics. chuckling quietly when they heard a laugh, or chatter in their attempts.

One of the boys, suddenly ran out of a darkened path, telling the others to go the other way, for their friend was not there.

So, the others went in search in a different direction, to find the stretch of the land not holding their fellow companion in sight. The only place not searched, being the porch the boy swored to be empty.

But alas, they crept to the porch, finding their friend, and the boy! Hiding very well, along with the boy’s sly act. The others started to gather around them and talk of their experience looking for the pair.

And from that, everyone tried their own at finding a perfect hiding spot stump their fellow game-players.

It was all great fun, the group rushing through the woods, sometimes, in the house- to see the person hiding either to see them hiding very clevery, or in plain sight. Every time, just as interesting as it was before.

Yet, the evening was coming to an end. The fire began to dim, no longer lively in its flames. The stars also began to dim, and it had almost seemed the wild forest was starting to calm down as well. The people said their goodbyes, finding themselves also ready to close their eyes and quietly rest. And as they departed, a lovely evening began to be a sweet memory they’d all remember.
