Morning Doves flutter by

Seeking Refuge in the trees

On a rainy afternoon,

in a faded daydream

Spring made it’s long awaited arrival

quietly, through the night

Slipping into the atmosphere

leaving in Winter’s Wake, a new light

The ache in my chest

is fading away

lingering, left but only

a scar, on a sleepy Monday

Everything around me

is singing a song of requiem

For the loss of your memory

and my change of heart

Moving forward, in your absence

right where I belong
